Working on the bluff where I cut down 2 4" diameter pear trees. These are an invasive from the rootstock of Bradford pears. I'm told originally the rootstock was a sterile variety, but the industry went to a cheaper non-sterile one. They spread by birds eating the fruit and pooping out seeds. These have nasty thorn like spurs on them and will take over an area. Later the stump will get roundup. Now relaxing with a bowl of C&D Night Train in a Savinelli Trevi 320EX. Great weather for working outdoors with 60F this am.

Starting my smoking day with a bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Watching the Yankees-Rangers game. Going to feed the ferals in a couple of minutes. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Thanks @Singed .Yep, that looks like a nasty one too and introduced. The article cites Michael Dirr, one of my favorite plant authors. I have a cherished 1980's edition of his "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants". I lost some blood on these pears today. The buckthorn species is interesting, in that we have native Carolina buckthorn, and the small bushy tree I have is full of red fruit now-very eye-catching against dark green leaves. Next bowl coming up in the Savinelli Trevi 320EX is C&D Habana Daydream with a cup of red neck prepped matcha.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am a third of the way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Peruvian Macchu Picchu, neat, is my drink. Going to post my Sutliff Silver Quarter 175th Anniversary Blend soon.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2022 Watch City Blue Ridge Special in a straight smooth ebony post-WW2 LHS Sterncrest 91 bulldog with a sterling silver band, a diamond shank and a tapered black vulcanite stem. This should get me to dinner time.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, orange roughy and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've passed the quarter mark of this bowl of aged Rattrays Hal O’ The Wynd in a straight smooth brown pre-WWII (Comoy’s) Corinthian De-Luxe 126 pot made for Sutliff in San Francisco with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Braves-Rockies game, and DVRing the rest of the Orioles-Rays game.
