Been listening to let it bleed and sticky fingers by The Rolling Stones the last 2 days. Before that for almost a week every afternoon it was Tony Bennett’s A swinging Christmas album.

The last 2 days I have discovered Miles Davis. Of course I had heard of
him but never heard anything by him. I got on a music streaming site yesterday and he was recommended because of what I had been listening too.

The album Kind of Blue by Miles Davis just blew me away. The song “blue in green” is awesome.  It’s funny how one’s music choices can change so drastically over the years. Years ago if it wasn’t big hair or grunge I would even give it a second thought.

Yes, that is a great album. Coltrane and Adderley play sax on the album and Jimmy Cobb does a good job on the drums. I play it so much, I almost wore out the cd!

Trevor Gordon Hall is a very talented guitarist, whom I saw last year at the annual Vintage Guitar Expo in Tacoma, WA. He uses no overdubs or loopers in these clips, just the same as I saw in person.

The Martin he's playing was customized by him to include a Kalimba which is an African thumb piano.

I've been enjoying a lot of music over the Winter break. I hooked my Alexa up to my Amazon music account. I then bought a small bluetooth device that links my amp to Alexa. Hey presto, just tell Alexa what I want to listen to and it's piped straight through my Mission M74i floor standers. I never thought I'd be one for streaming music, especially as I've accumulated a fair collection of CDs over the years and I like the whole collecting thing; tactile, jacket art, reading the jacket etc. But this streaming has really opened new doors.

So, the following have all been on the play list:

Pink Floyd, Leonard Cohen, Fleetwood Mac, Bowie, Stones, Queen, Eurythmics, Glenn Miller, JJ Cale, Roxy Music, Lou Reed... and probably of few others that have slipped from memory.

The show must go on.
