Sneaking in a smoke before another industry holiday party. Back to back parties with Better for You food and mocktails. All vices left at the front door, although I don’t consider pipe smoking a vice. 1960s Heritage (Kaywoodie) with Mississippi River.

Now smoking year 2018 Mac Baren HH Burley Flake in a 1979 smooth straight dark brown Loewe Army 910 billiard with a silver cap military mount and a tapered black vulcanite stem. This will keep me busy for a while. Getting ready to clean a few pipes with Sleepy Suzy by my side. Tomato the Brave is with m'lady.

I had a great phone chat with a good friend and finished all my pipes that had anything smokable left. After the call I loaded a bent MM Missouri Pride with GLP Laurel Heights and found that my phone was out of charge! It's back now and we're just about ready for dinner, lamb tenderloin and roasted winter squash!

Had some Oriental Silk in my big Lorenzetti this afternoon. It's been a nervewracking day playing taxi, for some reason even people who have lived in the snow and ice all their lives seem to be oblivious to the need for caution and preparation for the first month driving in the snow. Add to that the late arrival of snow coinciding with Christmas rush and a postal strike...the vehicular stupidity index is through the roof.

"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy."I think a lobotomy might be blissful right now.🤪

A third of the way through this bowl of KBV Prince of Wales 2023 in a straight smooth terracotta 2014 Sherlock Holmes Baker Street bulldog with sterling silver band and a tapered black p-lip stem. This will get me to dinner time.

Just in from a day of digging. As feared I had to load 6 Jerry cans of diesel into the excavator so I could use it today. The guy that gave me the xfer tank said to hit the pump with a wrench. Sounds logical. it's big and red and a whack seems like it should work. I'll try it tomorrow.
I finished my third bowl of 2024 Big Mix in my MM cob and I'm about to have a fourth before dinner.
Then I'm going to start working on that little pipe and see what I can do about the rim. Grain looks nice and there's clear writing on the stem. That should keep me off ebay.

Enjoyed a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm probably a couple of days before I can have an off diet day. I'm off to work with a bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a pre-1980s straight dark brown Comoy's Sandblast 186 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Going to try out the little pipe I'm fixing up. The stem still needs work. Back into the Oxy for one more round after this smoke then I'll polish it up along with the stummel. Have to dig out the buffer from another container. Then they'll be shiny.
I'm thinking Bayou Nights and then time for me to make dinner.

Passing the half way mark of this bowl of Wilke Little Round Top in an undated straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Sterling bulldog 150 with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Abner the Eager was hiding behind the couch for the entire evening. He came out to eat, but Tomato the Brave chirped at him, and Abner ran back to where he was. I managed to get him out, and took him to the kitchen to eat. He's on the sofa now. I fed all the other cats after that.

About a quarter of a bowl left of year 2020 D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Finished this Archie story I've been working on, except for touching up the last three pages. I'll do that tomorrow.

Just finished smoking year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Been watching A Concert for George [Harrison].

Last smoke of the day is year 2020 Mac Baren Scottish Mixture in a straight, smooth brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Special 38 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Tomato the Brave has been sleeping on my feet, and I gave him some attention before I got up to get this pipe and tobacco. He grabbed my right foot because he didn't want me to move away from him. As soon as I sat back down to post this smoke, he put his head on my foot. Reading while this bowl lasts.
