An early lunch where I prefer to smoke first with a bowl of Watch City Cigar Simply VOriental in a smoky MM General with forever (freshly cleaned) stem and drink highly honey sweetened Typhoo Extra Strong tea. This guy below does a nice video on the blend and mentions it being good with tea which is true.

Good grief a video warning from our nanny :-( !
Its around 40 F and damp, so the Icelandic wool jacket makes it warm.

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed my cats, and all the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Earlier today I wanted Watch City Cigar Simply VOriental in a briar, and it being cold outside, I chose this BG Pipes sitter bought in the 1980's. Well, it did a great job with the blend, so gets the honors again now. Funny how pipes will surprise you by doing well with a blend you wouldn’t have matched with it. This grain made me think how understandable it is to love a briar pipe. Even though I don't treat this one so well, it still looks good to me-old reliable too. This blend seems like a good rival to GLP Temple Bar, and I may some perique to test that. The comment about it being cold is about not wanting to subject a better pipe to maybe the thermal stress of the pipe being lit and smoked in less than 40 F, then it sit in the cold in my vehicle after being hot then emptied. Does anyone have opinions on this?

When I deployed to the South Pole Station with the Air Force, where the average temperature was -75 F or colder, I never took my pipes. You couldn't smoke inside the Station, anyway. Now in the books I've read on the Golden Age of Antarctica exploration, especially with pictures, many of Shackleton's and Scott's crew smoked their pipes out doors. Tom Cream always has a pipe in his mouth.

Thank you for your service

Gold Star 50th, neat, is my drink. Chatting with a fellow piper who shoulda knowed better. ;)

Happy Friday the 13th. It's a lucky day for me. My son Basil was born on Friday the 13th at 13:13. Nurse freaked out and offered to change the time so he wasn't cursed.😂😂😂 I told her it was fine. We've had our moments but he's made my life amazing. Nothing to change there.
Lunch was chicken fried rice. Yumm.
About to light up a bowl of Pashas Dream in my GO GO pipe. Knocked out 5 pickup loads of rounds today. Goes fast when the rounds are 2-3 feet across. Grabbed the logs with the excavator and held them up off the ground. Ran out of mix or I'd have done 3 more. Tomorrow.
Heading out to get chicken food and more ethanol free high test gas.

Taking my three cats (Mr Mojo Jojo, The Dutchess, and Lady Grey) for their annual vet visit has wiped me out. It might have been easier if I strapped down their cages so they stayed upright during the journey. I am so in awe of folks like Balisong and others who deal with way more animals daily. My farming grandparents must be shaking their heads somewhere on high at this city boy grandkid of theirs. Savinelli Otello smooth 321 with C&D’s Awakened Elder and a dry gin martini.

There are farm animals and then there are cats. Cats do what they want and will test you everytime. Be glad you survived without a visit to hospital yourself.
