Here’s a truly great entry...but tricky.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.  The Cohen Brother for Netflix.

Astonishingly fun, often violent and sometimes deep presentation of six stories from the old west. The Cohen Bro’s. wrote and directed.  Very, very stylish. Big laughs. Thrills and chills. Tears of joy and heartbreak.

This movie is worth getting Netflix for all by itself.

Just a bit of silliness for a change. Great to see these old B&W flicks again and one would believe that the mule can actually talk!

Donald O'Connor and Mickey Rooney make great foils to Francis!

Cheers,

RR

Ha! I haven't seen that movie since the 70s... might have to check it out soon.

I had a headache and was up late last night. I was watching TCM for distraction and they were playing Boys Town with Mickey Rooney. I just love that movie. I think Mickey Rooney was just excellent as Whitey Marsh. Such a great feel-good, corny movie... also Spencer Tracy as Father Flanagan... great movie!

Started watching on your recommendation, BH. I've just finished watching the old timer gold prospector so a few more to go. Brilliant, just brilliant. Twists and turns, laughs and shockers.

White Christmas was fantastic on the big screen. We enjoyed it so much that I came home and bought tickets to The Wizard of Oz, Ben Hur, and True Grit. It's a really beautiful theater in Alpharetta with leather recliners... that's the only way to go see a movie. 8)

There's no adequate way to describe this UK series, except that it's strange and quirky beyond belief as it follows the lives of various residents in the fictitious northern town of Royston Vasey.

Quite well done, but one has to pay close attention to the dialog and I'm grateful that this DVD set comes with optional sub-titles.

Cheers,

RR

After hitting the gym this morning the wife and I were in the mood for a little 'good guy kills all bad guys' movie.
Denzel answered the call perfectly.

Also, smoking a little Peter Stokkebye English Oriental Supreme while viewing.

Watched the Battle of Britain. Twice. Cracking film made in '69. Several 'goofs' with the kites if you know where to look too.

Black Mirror season four.
That is a messed up show...and I love it lol. The first episode was kind of hard to watch.
Some are definitely rough. Today I'm countering with a Shirley Temple marathon. Tonight will be A Christmas Story....
