After a hectic day I've got my brother off for the weekend on a date. I'm going to to smoke this Vanilla Custard in a Seville Burgandy Lucite I just picked up. I feel like a dessert smoke because I have to wash eggs. Lots of eggs.
My ducks decided they didn't want to lay in their house. They all waddled up the plank into the chicken's nesting boxes and got mud on everything. Super cute but...It will take a while to clean them. Looks to be a multi bowl task for these eggs.

WOW mate what a haul !! What breed lays those really brown ones?

They hang out in the yard and under the deck. Tomato the Brave always goes somewhere else to snooze when he doesn't spend the night inside. He used to stay outside until Harry the Hairy started being a regular. Abner the Eager doesn't sleep around our house because they other ferals don't want him around. Daisy the Feral Princess always spend the night inside.

Our neighbor built a couple of small houses for them, and they used to sleep in them, but not in the past year. I think they feel too vulnerable inside them. Abner the Eager used to snooze in one, but Tomato the Brave went in there to attack him, and Abner's never been in one since.

The Sutliff version. It's smoother. Can't tell you about the room note because I can never smell it. M'lady describes it for me.
There's a few cats that live on the property where I work. It's a huge Quaker boarding school that is on a big farm with a lake and lots of acres of deep woods. The place was built in the late 1700s. Anyway we have a few cats that live near my offce on the property, myself and some other teachers feed them and leave cream out so they can lap it up! We haven't named them yet. I want to take one home but I don't know how the cat would act in a home. He or she might be mad or scared that I took them to an unfamiliar dwelling. I'll tell ya what though, if I find any kittens from the adult cats I'm definitely bringing one or two home to raise!

Kittens adapt to being inside much better than older cats. Daisy the Feral Princess is eight or nine years old, and while she likes to be outside, she much prefers to be inside. She and Tomato the Brave came from the same home. He's about seven years old, and likes to be indoor and outdoors. Same goes for Abner the Eager, who may be a couple of years old.

Now smoking year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. The injured Freddie Freeman hit a game winning grand slam in the bottom of the tenth inning on the first pitch. The Yankees walked Mookie Betts to face Freeman, who made them pay for that. Wow!

I had an MM Pride filled with C&D Stratfordshire earlier this evening and now I have ave a bent MM Washington Rob Roy filled with GLP Westminster. I went looking for some bio material I had read/seen on G. L. Pease to respond to a query by @dwyermw and my best response was posted by @Aussiemike but I was looking for a different link that I couldn't find! IMHO Pease is one of the best English/Balkan blenders who managed to connect with a great blend producer.

Left LA this morning after spending time with family where I gifted a Cayuga bent billiard made by Paul’s Pipes Flint MI to my bro Paul.

Now enjoying a Savinelli raw 121KS bent pot with Gawith Full VA Flake while watching the Dodgers walk off against the Yankees.

Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and have passed the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Delight in my very reliable smooth straight post-1938 pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian 263 with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. It's time to clean a few pipes. Tomato the Brave came in to eat and get some affection, and then wanted out. Fed Harry the Hairy, but still haven't seen Abner the Eager. Daisy the Feral Princess is snoozin' on her blanket. Molly Danger is snoozin' with m'lady. Sleepy Suzy ate, and is by my side asking for more attention. Believe me when I tell you that she never gets enough to suit her nor does she ever get enough out of giving it back.

Last smoke of the day is year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a 1982 smooth straight Sasieni Ivory 105 Apple with a black vulcanite saddle stem. This was my first Sasieni. Bought it at my local Tinderbox for $9.95. Got everything done, so I am reading while this bowl lasts.

Good morning BoB! I'm putting together my Breakfast of Champions. I'm getting low on MM 150th, hopefully Sutliff will have a bulk sale soon and I'll order some Mark Twain and return to the original BOC menu. If not, Haunted Bookshop seems like a good candidate to replace MM150th. The Cobbler will remain the receptacle of choice, it's a great pipe with a lounging week-end attitude.

A third of the way through this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Going to check on the ferals in a couple of minutes. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Brewing my second coffee and setting up my Bones Dublin with a bowl of Haunted Bookshop. This blends may well supplant Pegasus in my rotation. It is full and nutty with an earthy background similar to cigar leaf that I like - in a small bowl. It would be too much for me in a KS. My Bones is a perfect size for it, though. 😋

Those are Marans either French Copper or Cookoo. Usually the French Coppers lay darker brown ones.
I have blue, green and wine colored eggs too. As well as white and tan.
I'm breeding for really striking colors to make my eggs different at the market.

This morning I'm starting off with Bayou Morning in my trusty new MM cob.
Raining, but work to get done. Everyone is fed but me. Oh well.
I'm going to cut a couple of cords of firewood today for the new woodstove.

Tis the season for firewood. Once the greens at the course are tarped We take a crew of three and remove standing dead oak for firewood. I'm looking forward to it, aches and pains aside. I also included Bayou Morning in my last order, would love to see your thoughts on it.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. All the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager have been fed. My cats ate earlier.

I just sliced up a dozen 80' trees they left on the ground when they logged my property into 12' pieces I can grab with the excavator. I hold them one at a time over the dump truck bed and cut the rounds right into the bed. No heavy lifting of rounds anymore. Alas they don't split or stack themselves.
I liked Bayou Morning quite a bit. Fuss free smoke. Tastes of pepper a little and was very smooth all the way to the bottom of the bowl.
I accidentally got a good inhale and it had a pretty good kick for a few minutes till I recovered. I'm a nicotine whimp but this I could smoke all day as long as I don't slip on a log and inhale it😊
